The New Year is coming and resolution ideas are floating in the air. Whether you want to read more, start a new project, or even go on an epic road trip, prioritizing your health is a great place to start. Here are some ideas to help you start your year off strong: 

Get Good Sleep

Most adults need between 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Set aside your phone for at least an hour before bed. Have consistent wake and sleep times each day, and do calming activities before bed such as reading, coloring, taking a warm bath, or drinking a hot cup of tea.

Eat Well

Nutrition is another important thing for your health. Be mindful of what you eat and how it affects your body. Drink plenty of water, at least half your body weight in ounces each day. Eat your fruits and veggies, and get in protein and dairy.

Move Your Body

Exercise is another thing that can improve your physical health. Try a workout routine, or if that isn’t your style go for a walk. Try yoga, swimming, a leisurely jog or run, or dancing to get some movement into your day. 

Boost Your Mood

Physical health and mental health go hand in hand. Mental health affects your physical health and vice versa. To help boost your mood in the new year, get good sleep and spend time in the sun. Engage in activities that help support your mental health such as journaling, or reading a book. Another thing that can help is lowering your screentime and mindfulness around whether the content you are engaging in brings you down or lifts you up.
