Rehab Expanding Treatment Space – February 2026

Bucktail Medical Center Rehab currently offers Physical and Occupational Therapy to the people of Renovo and the surrounding areas. BMC Rehab provides both inpatient and outpatient services to help patients regain independence and get back to the activities they enjoy.
Physical Therapy focuses on improving movement, strength, balance, and pain management. PT helps patients return to normal function after orthopedic injuries, surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, balance disorders, and work-related injuries.
Occupational Therapy helps individuals regain the skills needed for everyday activities, such as dressing, bathing, cooking, working, or returning to school. OT is also able to assess functional limitations caused by injury, illness, or weakness related to the aging process, and recommend adaptive equipment to remain independent in your everyday activities of daily living.
BMC’s rehab team includes two Physical Therapists, two Physical Therapist Assistants, one Occupational Therapist, and one Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Currently, our PT and OT services are provided in two separate rooms. At times throughout the day, the PT room reaches full allowable capacity, making it clear that additional space is needed to continue meeting community demand.
To address this growing need, the rehab department is expanding into a new space. We are excited to announce that the room that was formerly used as a Skilled Nursing Facility dining room is being repurposed into a new, larger rehabilitation gym.
This new space will provide several important benefits. It will increase overall treatment capacity, allowing more patients to be seen. The expanded area will also support future upgrades and additions to rehabilitation equipment. Additionally, by creating a shared treatment space, PT and OT staff will be able to collaborate more easily, improving coordination of care. The new gym will enhance our ability to treat high school athletes returning to sports and individuals recovering from work-related injuries. Overall, this expansion will strengthen the quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of our rehabilitation services.
As we expand into a joint space, we still recognize that some conditions and treatments require a higher level of privacy. During initial evaluations, PTs and OTs may ask sensitive health history questions to ensure safe and effective care. The good news is that the current PT and OT rooms will be retained as private treatment spaces. These rooms will continue to be used when privacy is needed. While the majority of treatments and equipment will be located in the new gym, private rooms will remain available to support confidential discussions and individualized care when appropriate
With this expansion, BMC Rehab is strengthening its commitment to providing high-quality care. By combining a modern treatment gym with private spaces when needed, the rehab department will be even better equipped to serve the people of Renovo and neighboring communities. The vision of Bucktail Medical Center is to “serve humanity through technology and family-oriented interactions with a commitment to a better quality of life.” We believe that this expansion will advance that vision, helping patients move better, live independently, and return to the activities they enjoy most.
