Feeling more tired than usual? You may be experiencing burnout. Burnout may last as long as a couple of weeks to a couple months of exhaustion both mentally and physically. It is often caused by job stress.

Signs of Burnout

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Sick more often
  • Not taking care of yourself and ignoring hygiene
  • Self-medication such as scrolling endlessly, eating more than usual, or heavily drinking
  • Loss of appetite or increased appetite
  • Anxiety such as not wanting to face work or the thought of going to work makes you extremely anxious

At Home Ways to Fight Burnout:

  • When your work day is over, turn off work devices. Set clear boundaries to help you stop feeling like you have to work.
  • Rest. Go for a walk, drink some water, or take a nap.
  • Engage in activities that make you happy such as writing, reading, spending time in nature, etc.
  • Talk to friends or loved ones. Talking about how you’re doing can help you feel a little better
